      It does change the point of aim a little when you change the barrel. But probably not any more than you point of aim changes when switching ammo with different bullet weights.

    OSS used these. Check your serials always on old Colts as you may have a rare gun or maybe not. There were other cool groups that also used em. My gunshop buddy and friend used to carry one of these as his first gun for ccw. Thin guns.

      32acp pistols were very popular back in the day. Both in the US and Europe. And they came up with some really odd designs back in the early days. The Colt 1903 and FN 1910/Browning 1910 were both designed by John Browning. The 1910 is more or less just a simplified 1903. The Savage model 1907 was another great little 32acp pistol. Far as I know the 1907 was the first pistol to use a double stack magazine. Or maybe you would call it a semi-double stack magazine. Nice little gun, but more complicated than the Colt or Browning.

    So a Steven's Favorite frame made into a repeater, how cool! Was probably one of first repeaters in 22lr out I bet. Later I think Winchester and others came out with pumps that were superior, but they also cost more too I bet. Does it cycle shorts?

    • @1957Shep
      @1957Shep День тому

      Actually, Stevens was kind of late to the party with 22 pump rifles. The Colt Lightning came out in 1884 and Winchester followed in 1890. The very early Colt and Winchesters were 22 Short, but they chambered them in 22LR after 22LR came about. I doubt 22 Short would feed in the Visible Loader. The riser is long enough that it would probably try to kick up two rounds at a time and jam everything up.

  • @AldoSchmedack

    Always wanted one of these. You can think of the 22 mag snub as a 22lr rifle power and speed with the magnum. It's about the exact same power and fps so it is no slouch at all. A 22lr rifle is actually not bad for defense with right shot placement, but best to use multiple hits with. Heart/lung/neck. It's a close in gun but easy to slip in pocket. I rather like the idea of them for just going to get mail and coming back in. Things like that. I have other things for that use, but a lot handier to use this, and still cheap to train vs a 32 or 380, and easy to fire from hidden inside a pocket compared to say a Beretta 21a or PPK. No slide means less risk of snagging though have had it happen in training once with pocket between the cylinder and frame. Still a neat small handy setup.

    Entire trick (I own several of em) is to tilt gun on reassembly so when the hammer lever that hangs and goes into the plunger/takedown/mainspring assembly is dropped it isn't behind the reinforcing cross pin. If you can visualize it in your mind as you do it you will never have issue. Just have to mentally picture it. You can use the magazine itself or a paper clip to pull the outter lever to take down. Really only need a mag though. Stoning the surfaces really helped this one a lot. Finest 22lr made unless you count Feinwërkbau, Hämerli's or Walther's Olympic guns. Of those I have always liked them in that order listed. But you can get olympic grips for these as well. The 6-7/8" or 10" are so accurate and easy to aim you can keep a golf ball moving and never have it stop. Cheap to get that good too as ammo is so inexpensive for it. I remember when I was younger a round on sale was 9/10ths of a cent. Mags are easy to get and cheap. Feed lips aren't very critical for em and mags are hard so they last forever save the springs. You can modify em for 12 round capcity, too. If I could only have one gun, and had to do everything with it, a Mark 4 Tactical (non 1911 type) with supressor, red dot and light/laser combo would be it. Also they make nice g10 grips for these now.

      Showing my age with this comment, when I was a kid you could get a box of 22LR for 60 cents. I guess the Rugers are not any more difficult to take down than Hi-Standards or Colts of that era. Just different.

    Own a *LOT* of things, but that 452 it's my goto. And I mean I have a ton of a choices. With that CZ I can do 200m/yd all day. Nickel to dime groups at 50 yds (with no wind). Not picky on ammo either. I wished it was threaded is all. Added a picatinny rail over the 11mm but I prefer the irons and man do I have em dialed in. They make high cap mags for them btw. With the single sled it makes a great trainer for kids. Trigger is so good I never messed with replacing or stoning it beyond setting it. Fantastic gun for the money. My fav thing I added was a custom safari sling, all it really did need. The swivels are so silent on it. Easy gun to get food for pot with. My goto js the steel mags, but have many in each type and size.

    If you are carrying a SAA around loaded with 5 on an empty chamber..... I guess we just have to trust you? cause it looks like the hammer is down on a loaded gun. if you use the safety notch then we know the gun is safe unless someone comes up behind you with a hammer and hits your gun really really really hard maybe a couple of times. The half cock and full cock notches are indeed kinda sorta delicate. but take a look at the safety notch. it is much much deeper so that not only does it not want to break but the trigger nose goes in much deeper. I have never heard of a real instance where the notch was broken. half cock? sure they will break. My suggestion... and it is just a suggestion.... is that anyone who carries with the John Wayne movie load should also at least put the hammer in the safety notch so that we have a visual and not just "believe me it is safe cause I used the John Wayne movie loading" Oddly.. the same people who think the Colt SAA is unsafe in the safety notch are perfectly happy to trust rifles and shotguns with even less robust notches.
